New ‘The Master’ Trailer is Latest in Deliberate Viral Campaign
The viral campaign for Paul Thomas Anderson's The Master continues to suck us into its glacial-paced vortex.
A new clip for the film, "Hopelessly Inquisitive," debuted today, the latest in a meditative rollout for PTA's sort-of, maybe take on Scientology founder L.Ron Hubbard. The clip gives us our first look at Philip Seymour Hoffman as Hubbard stand-in Lancaster Dodd, a self-described "writer, doctor, nuclear physicist (and) theoretical philosopher", as he begins his mentorship of the wayward Freddie Sutton, played by Joaquin Phoenix.
